Oh were you using that feature?
The ever-changing world of M365 - where features seem to come and go.
It was just a week ago that I was talking about the new features for Copilot that were announced, and after I sent out that newsletter, Microsoft announced more new features:
Microsoft's new Copilot Vision "Sees" your screen to provide AI help
All the news on Microsoft’s latest Copilot and Windows AI features
I also want to talk about an interesting thing that happened after I saw these announcements. In my work account, which has a Copilot for M365 license, I noticed that the voice option was available in the iOS Copilot app and at copilot.microsoft.com.
I made a note to test that option because I have questions about whether the voice prompts were searchable for eDiscovery, like typed prompts.
I opened the iOS app again on Friday and was redirected to the Microsoft 365 app, which no longer had the voice option.
Note—there had previously been a message center announcement about retiring the app and the copilot.microsoft.com URL and redirecting to the M365 location, but that doesn’t explain why a feature that was there one day is now gone.
Going to the new website confirmed that the voice option was no longer there and made it evident that the Copilot Notebook feature was unavailable. It’s just gone. (see also - Microsoft Copilot's latest refresh: Missing features and user frustration)
If you liked using the Notebook feature to keep track of information from Copilot, I hope it comes back and your information isn’t lost. I have no idea if that is the reality of the situation, though.
I am curious to see if it was integrated into Copilot Pages and if it will appear when that feature is released. It is not a good look to have features missing when you refresh a product.
Especially when that product is one you’re betting so much money on.
But that’s not the only refresh I saw recently.
I also saw that the Purview eDiscovery preview was available. While this is not a full review, I naturally noticed one big missing feature. (There are more than one, trust me on this.)
First, the good news. In the new Cases interface, there is a place to apply holds inside each case. You’ll recall that was missing when it appeared briefly briefly a few weeks back.
The bad news is that the hold interface is similar to the one in the eDiscovery Standard, not from the eDiscovery Premium.
