The first edition of this newsletter was published on June 5, 2023, and this one is going out to subscribers on June 4, 2024. It's grown slightly in the year since—not a ton, but I know a core group of folks appreciate the effort and get some value from it.
I want to test some ideas and different formats to get even more value for paid subscribers. I’m slowing down a bit on my other projects this summer to find new and exciting ways to improve all of them, including this newsletter.
Whether you’ve been around since June 2023 or have recently started following, thanks for being here. I appreciate your attention. As always, I will reward folks for recommending this newsletter to their peers to show my appreciation.

If you or one of the folks you refer to the newsletter is impacted by a layoff, have them send me a note (mike@mikemcbrideonline.com) so I can upgrade their free subscription to a paid one for 90 days. Trying to keep up with M365 changes can be rough when you’re not working, and I want to do what I can to help out with that while you’re going through that.
Also, if you are thinking of referring a group of coworkers or a community group, drop me an email, and we can discuss a discount group membership instead.
With that reminder out of the way, let’s talk more about Copilot.
I was recently reminded of the different flavors of Copilot when it comes to Enterprise M365 customers. Not the variety of Copilot tools, like Security, Sales, etc., but the three ways a user could interact with Microsoft’s Copilot tool and how small things our user might do would impact eDiscovery and compliance.
I want to talk about the flavors of Copilot (Free), Copilot (Free with Commercial Data Protection) and Copilot for M365.
We talked last month about Copilot for M365 and where the interactions are stored.
But what about those other two flavors?
